A 21-day breathwork program

Three weeks, one guided session a day. Foundation, Build and Peak, with milestones to mark your progress and rest-day tokens so one missed day doesn't break your streak.

Why a program?

It's common to try a breathwork session, enjoy it, and then not do another for weeks. The hard part isn't the breathing. It's knowing what to do next, and having a reason to show up tomorrow. A program answers both: today's session is already chosen, and each day builds a little on the last.

Twenty-one days is long enough to feel a change in how familiar the practice becomes and short enough to see the end from the start. It's not a magic number, and nothing happens to your body on day 21 that didn't happen on day 20. It's a sensible block of time for a habit.

How the 21-day program works

The program in Simple Breathwork has three phases, with a guided session for each day:

Milestones are celebrated at days 7, 14 and 21, so each week has its own finish line. And because real life happens, the program gives you rest-day tokens: use one to take a day off to recover without losing your streak.

Exactly what each day contains is set in the app and can change between versions, so we don't list a day-by-day plan here. Open the program in the app to see today's session. If a day's session feels like too much, it's fine to shorten it, slow the pace, or use a rest-day token and come back tomorrow. Finishing the program comfortably matters more than finishing it fast.

Not ready for 21 days? Start with seven

If three weeks feels like a lot, start with the 7-day Fresh Start routine: one short session a day for a week. It's designed to build the habit without overwhelming it. Pair it with a workday reminder (at the start, middle or end of your workday) and you'll have a daily anchor before you take on anything longer.

Or start smaller still. The free Start Fresh session is a guided two-minute reset. Two minutes a day for a week is a perfectly good first program.

Making the three weeks work

Safety across a program

Programs that include power breathing and breath holds carry the same risks every day, even when the practice starts to feel easy. Familiarity is when people get careless.

The breathwork safety guide explains why breath holds after fast breathing need care. New to breathwork altogether? Read the beginner's guide first.

Tracking your three weeks

Every session counts toward your streak and weekly practice in the app's analytics, along with your best hold and average hold. A Home Screen widget, Live Activity and Dynamic Island keep your session and streak visible. When you hit a milestone, you can share a session card with your hold times, best hold and streak to Instagram Stories or Messages, if you want to. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.

The 21-day program is part of Simple Breathwork. Start Fresh and Box Breathing are free every day; see the App Store listing for what Premium includes today.
